Post-production magic will only be successful if components are shot and lit right.

OTT’s primary deliverable for this project was to turn over clean clips to the post-production team which should result to minimal work on their end. We’re obviously not big fans of the common industry phrase “they can fix that in post.”

We wanted to ensure everyone’s safety while shooting during a pandemic. The voice over was recorded in a car, and the ad agency, client, and OTT agreed to reduce headcount by shooting the main and supporting talents on different days. OTT crew members multitasked and took on several roles to further limit headcount, with some of them even taking on the supporting talent roles.

The client and ad agency monitored the shoot off-site. A Protocol Officer and Medic were also part of our team to enforce safety measures and guidelines. Antigen tests were required prior to entering the studio.

A green cyclorama helped us limit production design requirements.

To the discerning eye, lights and shadows greatly affect the totality of an image, whether still or motion. This is especially true when doing a composite from several images in post-production. If all elements, but one, have their shadow on the right, the one thing that has its shadow on the left will stand out and destroy the image as our brains scream, "fake." Even when the composition is larger than life, like done by the agency of Pic-A in this case, consistency in lighting give a more realistic feel for the audience.

Since our output for this project was to be edited by a different team, we made sure they received our files as clean as we could provide so they can concentrate on their job instead of cleaning up ours. This, for us, means clean lighting and strict adherance to our DP's guidelines.
